Everybody has that place in their house where they "pose"....you know...that place where you go when you get dressed up, or are celebrating, or maybe are just really happy...and you say "Let's go take a picture ____________." For my family, that place is our front porch arch.
We moved into our house my freshman year in high school, and it instantly turned into "my childhood home." Memories have been made in every corner of that house (mostly good with a few "teen angst" moments mixed in). When I got married there was never any question where I would spend my day getting ready...at my parents' house...my childhood home...where I got ready for so many school days, dances, and sibling "sleepovers" (my dad's favorite line "Why did we buy a five bedroom house if you are all going to sleep in the same gosh dang room?!"). And there was never any doubt where we would take our family pictures....on our front porch. Under the arch. Our arch.
Over the years we have compiled quiet the collection of arch pictures. I'm sure if I went back home through all our pictures from the pre-facebook days I would find tons more, but for now these will have to do. Here are few of my favorite pictures over the years in front of our arch.
This past Wednesday we added a few more arch picture to our collection...and a new person to our family! Can't wait to show you more pictures from my sister's beautiful wedding...but these will have to tide you over for now. :)
Love that arch, love that house, but more than anything I love those people that helped make it my home. Until next time...
