I have been meaning to get this post up forever...and other things just kept taking priority! But here it is! I'm going to keep it short and sweet just so I actually get it posted (I have a bad habit of starting really long posts...then just leaving them half finished in blogger...oops).
Watching Joe Henry graduate was kind of surreal. Maybe because I feel like that was just me....how is the YOUNGEST Dower all done with school, too? It just seems time went by way too fast....just ask my parents. I teared up all weekend long. From his graduation party, to watching him speak in church Sunday morning, to watching him walk across the stage Sunday afternoon. In fact, I started tearing up as soon as we pulled into the arena parking lot...let's just blame it on pregnancy hormones! I am so very proud of Joe, Savannah, and all of their sweet friends! It was so great spending the weekend celebrating them!
On to the pictures! :)
Joe holding a picture of him and his friend Lucas...with his friend Lucas. :)
Graduation parties can be exhausting.
Joe had his party with his three best friends (Brody, Dakota, and Tanner) and the moms did SUCH a good job setting up tables for each boy. This is the only pic I took of the table...and it was after they had already taken down all the pictures around the jacket. So basically I just took a picture of his jacket. Fail.
Senior Sunday at FPC! Only two graduates this year...what is fun is that they are such great friends! :)
They decided to take part in one last children's time. :)
I didn't get a picture of it, but after the graduates spoke they invited the families and friends up to pray with and for the graduates. I teared up (again) as I watched my family's friends stand up to pray over Joe. From my dad's co-workers, to family friends such as the Eriksens and others, to the parents of Joe's younger friends (I wish I had written this sooner so I remembered more)....but it was just so neat to see how loved Joe is and how many people are thinking of and praying for him as he start the next chapter of his life!
Mmmm...cake at fellowship hour!
Making his way into the arena!
He spotted us...and continued to make faces while I took pictures. :)
We got separated from the rest of the family and they ended up across the arena...hey, family! :)
These boys are pretty darn special to me. I love that Joe was surrounded with such wonderful friends throughout his elementary, middle, and high school years.
We had a wonderful weekend celebrating Joe! The next high school graduate in our family will be our baby....WILD!
